DTC B3031: Key Decoder In Assembly Learn Mode

The PASS-Key(R) III Theft Deterrent (VTD) Module performs an internal test to determine if module is in Learn Coded Key mode every 300 milliseconds. If test indicates module is in Learn Coded Key mode, DTC B3031 will set. No warning message will be displayed. When a new module is installed, module is in Learn Coded Key mode.

1. Perform PASS-Key(R) III SYSTEM CHECK . After performing system check, go to next step.
2. Perform PASS-Key(R) III SYSTEM AUTO LEARN PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING. Turn ignition off. Clear any DTCs. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on. If DTC B3031 exists, go to next step. If DTC does not exist, system is okay.
3. Replace VTD module. After replacing module, go to next step.
4. Turn ignition off. Reconnect all connectors. Turn ignition on. Clear any DTCs. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on. If all DTCs are cleared, go to PASS-Key(R) III SYSTEM CHECK .
