Removal & Installation

  1. Open rear compartment lid. Remove push in retainers from top edge and center of rear compartment front trim panel. See Figure . Remove rear compartment front trim panel from rear compartment.
  2. Remove bay board fasteners. See Figure . Pull bay board away from body and place module side up in rear compartment.
  3. Remove Vehicle Communication Unit (VCU)/Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU) from bay board by releasing tab and pulling from lower mounting. See Figure . Disconnect VCU/VIU antenna and electrical connectors.
  4. Slide VCU out of mounting bracket/VIU assembly. Remove fasteners retaining mounting bracket to VIU and remove. To install, reverse removal procedure. After installation, VIU must be programmed. See PROGRAMMING  .
