Removal & Installation

Turn ignition off. Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) is located under air cleaner assembly, attached to subframe. See Figure . Remove air cleaner assembly and reposition Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to gain access to EBCM. Raise and support vehicle. Remove lower radiator and left front wheel well splash shield. Remove 3 EBCM bracket nuts. Remove 2 lower EBCM to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) bolts. Lower vehicle and disconnect EBCM connector. Remove front insulator and insulator mounting bolt. Remove 2 upper EBCM to BPMV bolts. Do not pry EBCM from BPMV. Separate EBCM from BPMV using care not to damage seal. See Fig 1 . To install, reverse removal procedure.
