DTC B1556: BCM EPROM Write Error: Testing

  1. If body control module diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If body control module diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs with scan tool. Turn ignition off and back on. If DTC resets, go to next step. If DTC does not reset, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  3. Replace PZM. See PLATFORM ZONE MODULE (PZM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Reconnect all disconnected components and connectors. Turn ignition on and use scan tool to clear DTCs. Go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
