DTC B1972: Low Power Control Fault: Testing

  1. If body control module diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If body control module diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PZM connectors. Remove PZM fuse (10-amp) located in trunk compartment fuse block. Using DVOM, measure resistance between PZM Brown 32-pin connector C2 terminal C2 (Orange wire) and ground. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to step  4 .
  3. Repair short to ground in Orange wire between trunk compartment fuse block and PZM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  4. Replace PZM. See PLATFORM ZONE MODULE (PZM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
