System Operation Check

NOTE: Perform this check before diagnosing symptoms. If system does not operate as specified in test step, proceed to appropriate diagnosis and testing procedure under SYMPTOM TESTS  unless specified otherwise.
  1. Place mirror select switch in LEFT position. Operate mirror in all directions. Left outside mirror should move as commanded.
  2. Place mirror select switch in RIGHT position. Operate mirror in all directions. Right outside mirror should move as commanded. If power mirrors do not operate as specified, go to next step.
  3. If vehicle is equipped with memory mirrors, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with memory mirrors, diagnose by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX  table under SYMPTOM TESTS.
  4. Press MEMORY 1 button. Single beep should be heard and both mirrors should move to programmed position for position No. 1.
  5. Press MEMORY 2 button. Single beep should be heard and both mirrors should move to programmed position for position No. 2.
  6. Press EXIT button. Left seat should move to programmed position for EXIT for last programmed driver.
  7. Turn ignition on. Place shift lever into Reverse position. Right outside mirror should tilt down approximately 7 degrees or to end of travel. If system does not operate as specified, repair as necessary. See appropriate MEMORY SYSTEMS article.
