Circuit Description

Driver Door Module (DDM) performs internal testing for each write or block of writes to Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM). DDM writes to EEPROM cell, and then reads data back.

DTC B1656 will set when data read by DDM does not match data written to EEPROM after 3 consecutive attempts. No driver warning message will be displayed for this DTC.

DTC B1656 will clear when data read by DDM matches data written to EEPROM. History DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if condition for malfunction is no longer present. Current and history DTCs can also be cleared using scan tool.
