Test 11: Power Headrest Does Not Move Up/Down - Without A45
- Perform POWER SEAT SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
- Using test light connected to ground, backprobe power seat switch connector terminal "K" (White/Black wire) for left side, or terminal "N" (Light Green wire) for right side. See Figure . Press headrest up switch. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 5 .
- Using test light connected to ground, backprobe power seat switch connector terminal "M" (Blue/White wire) for left side, or terminal "R" (Yellow wire) for right side. Press headrest down switch. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 5 .
- Disconnect 2-pin headrest motor connector. Connect test light between headrest motor connector terminals "A" (White/Black wire or Light Green wire) and "B" (Blue/White wire or Yellow wire). Operate headrest switch in up and down directions. If test light illuminates in both directions, go to step 6 . If test light does not illuminate in both directions, go to step 7 .
- Check power seat switch connector for poor connections. If problem is found, repair as necessary, then go to step 10 . If problem is not found, go to step 8 .
- Check headrest motor connector for poor connections. If problem is found, repair as necessary, then go to step 10 . If problem is not found, go to step 9 .
- Repair open in White/Black wire, Blue/White wire, Light Green wire or Yellow wire between power seat switch and headrest motor. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Replace power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER SEATS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Replace headrest motor. See SEAT MOTORS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER SEATS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, go to next step.
- Operate system to verify repair. If system operates normally, repair is complete. If system does not operate normally, return to step 2 .
