Programming Engine Control Module Theft Deterrent Security Code

NOTE: When ECM is replaced, ECM must be synchronized with security code of theft deterrent module security code.
  1. Turn ignition off. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Select SERVICE PROGRAMMING on scan tool. Program vehicle configuration as required.
  2. Follow instruction on the scan tool to request the information from the controller. Turn ignition off. Remove the scan tool from the vehicle.
  3. Connect scan tool to Techline terminal. Follow instructions on Techline terminal to perform vehicle theft deterrent learn function using SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM.
  4. Turn scan tool off. Disconnect scan tool from Techline terminal. Reconnect scan tool to vehicle. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Return to SERVICE PROGRAMMING menu and follow instructions to program frequency code.
  5. After programming is complete, clear any DTCs that may have set in ECM prior to learning correct theft determinant frequency code. Perform idle learn procedure. See IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE.
