Keyless Entry Transmitter Programming

NOTE: All transmitters which are to be recognized by Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If system is placed in program mode, all previously programmed transmitters will be erased when programming signal from first transmitter is received. Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. DO NOT operate or program transmitters near other vehicles that are in keyless entry program mode. Use care to program transmitters correctly.
NOTE: The order in which transmitters are programmed is important. First transmitter programmed will be transmitter No. 1, second transmitter programmed will be transmitter No. 2 and so on. Identification number on transmitters is for reference only and does not indicate order programmed. Additional unnumbered transmitters are available.
NOTE: Scan tool must stay connected until all of transmitters are programmed.
  1. Turn ignition off. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Use scan tool REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATION SPECIAL FUNCTION: PROGRAM KEY FOBS to place remote control door lock receiver into program mode. Doors will lock and then unlock to confirm program mode.
  2. Simultaneously press and hold LOCK button and UNLOCK button on one transmitter. After a delay of 15 seconds, doors will lock and unlock in order to confirm programming of that transmitter. Repeat programming procedure for up to 4 transmitters.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove scan tool. Operate transmitter functions to verify correct system operation.
