Shifter Assembly: Removal
- Remove the console. See CENTER CONSOLE . Remove the rear air duct front support nuts (1). Remove the console rear support nuts (2). Remove the supports (4). See Fig 1 . Slide the air duct rearward to remove.
- Disconnect the automatic transmission control electrical connector. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the shift control linkage from the shift lever. Lower the vehicle. Drill out the 5 rivets (2) attaching the control from the body. Remove the shifter assembly (1) from body. See Fig 2 .
