Retained Accessory Power System Diagnostic Check

NOTE: If DTC B1422 is set, Retained Accessory Power feature may be disabled.
  1. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. If scan tool powers up, go to next step. If scan tool does not power up, see TEST A: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT POWER UP  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Turn ignition on. Try to establish communication on class 2 serial data circuit (if using Tech 2, use MESSAGE MONITOR feature) with audio amplifier, cellular telephone module (if equipped with ROP code UV8), Dash Integration Module (DIM), Driver's Door Module (DDM), Driver's Door Switch Assembly (DDSA), Left Middle Door Module (LMDM), Left Rear Door Module (LRDM), Memory Seat Module (MSM), navigation display head and navigation data processor (if equipped with RPO code UY4), Front Passenger's Door Module (FPDM), radio, Rear Integration Module (RIM), Right Middle Door Module (RMDM), Right Rear Door Module (RRDM), steering column module. If scan tool communicates with all listed modules, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with all listed modules, see TEST B: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  3. Select display DTCs function for each module listed in previous step (if using Tech 2 , use CLASS 2 DTC CHECK feature in order to determine which modules have set DTCs. If scan tool displays any DTCs, go to next step. If scan tool does not display any DTCs, check audio amplifier, cellular telephone module (with RPO code UV8), door modules, MSM (with RPO code A45), navigation display head (with RPO code UY4), navigation data processor (with RPO code UY4), radio, RIM and steering column module (with RPO code N37) for retained accessory power operation.
  4. Select MODULES DISPLAY DTCs function on scan tool. If scan tool does not display any DTCs that begin with "U", go to next step. If scan tool displays any DTCs that begin with "U", diagnose communication problem. See TEST B: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  5. If scan tool does not display DTC B1000, B1004, B1007 or B1009, go to next step. If scan tool displays DTC B1000, B1004, B1007 or B1009, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
  6. If scan tool does not display DTC B1327 or B1328, go to next step. If scan tool displays DTC B1327 or B1328, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS in GENERATORS & REGULATORS - DEVILLE article in STARTING & CHARGING SYSTEMS.
  7. If scan tool displays DTC B1422, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If scan tool does not display DTC B1422, check audio amplifier, cellular telephone module (with RPO code UV8), door modules, MSM (with RPO code A45), navigation display head and navigation data processor (with RPO code UY4), radio, RIM and steering column module (with RPO code N37) for retained accessory power operation.
