Jacking & Hoisting

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 47 other vehicles, including the 2001 Pontiac Montana, 2001 Pontiac Aztek, 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette, 2001 Oldsmobile Bravada, and 2001 GMC Sonoma. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Some models are equipped with Automatic Level Control (ALC). When lifting vehicle on a hoist, it is important that rear axle trim height remains at normal height at all times to prevent damage to auto level control air compressor. If possible, use a hoist that supports rear tires. If a frame contact hoist must be used, support rear axle with 2 additional jack stands.

Put floor jack or vehicle hoist under vehicle at proper lifting points. See Fig 1 - Fig 5 . If raising vehicle on a twin post hoist, do not damage suspension components, rear axle cover, or steering linkage.
