Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Before replacing Dash Integration Module (DIM), record personalization settings, to transfer into new module. See DASH INTEGRATION MODULE  under PROGRAMMING.
  1. Remove fasteners securing closeout insulator panel (3) to instrument panel retainer. Remove push-in retainer to release closeout insulator panel from IP retainer. Turn heater temperature sensor (2) 1/4 turn counterclockwise to remove sensor from closeout insulator panel (3). Disconnect electrical connector (1) from lower IP courtesy light. See Fig 1. Slide closeout insulator panel rearward to remove from vehicle.
  2. Remove DIM (2) from bracket by releasing tab behind DIM. Disconnect DIM harness connectors (1). See Fig 2.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten closeout insulator panel retaining screws to 18 INCH Lbs. (2 N.m). Program DIM. See DASH INTEGRATION MODULE  under PROGRAMMING.
