Installation Procedure

  1. Install the steering gear protection shield to the steering gear.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the steering gear protection shield retaining bolts (3) to the steering gear.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 180 N.m (132 lb ft).

  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Perform a four wheel alignment. Refer to MEASURING WHEEL ALIGNMENT (WITH REAR WHEEL STEERING) or MEASURING WHEEL ALIGNMENT (WITHOUT REAR WHEEL STEERING) in Wheel Alignment.
