2004 Cadillac DeVille, DHS, DTS, SLS; with 4.6L Engine (VINs Y, 9 - RPOs LD8, L37)

Condition

Some customers may comment on the Service Engine Soon light coming on. Some of the above listed models may set a PCM code P0171 and/or P0174 when the vehicle is decelerating. The freeze frame data for fuel time would indicate that when the code set, it was in cell 20.

Correction

Complete the SI Diagnostics to resolve possible vacuum/exhaust leaks or O2 sensor concerns. If you have completed the SI Diagnostics with no trouble found (NTF), then reflash the PCM with the following calibration or later.

The new calibration will be released beginning with TIS satellite data update version 3.0 for 2004 which includes TECH2(R) update version 24.001 available March, 2004. As always, make sure your TECH2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
