Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the sending unit. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (4.8L and 5.3L Engines)  or Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (5.3L (L59) Engine)  or Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (6.0L Engine - Dual Tanks - Front)  or Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (6.0L Engine - Dual Tanks - Rear) .
  2. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector.
  3. Cut the existing fuel level sensor wiring.

  5. Squeeze the locking tabs together to remove the fuel level sensor from the fuel sender assembly.

  7. Using a screwdriver to release the locking tabs, remove the wiring harness from the fuel sender assembly.
