Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the cruise control module (1) on the mounting bracket (4).
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the fasteners (3) which retain the bracket to the module.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fasteners to 7.5 N.m (66 lb in).

  5. Install the cruise control module assembly (2) to the body.
  6. Install the 2 nuts (3) and the bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts and the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  8. Connect the electrical connector to the cruise control module (1).
  9. IMPORTANT: The cruise control cable does not require mechanical adjusting after the replacement. The cruise control module internally adjusts the cable. Refer to Cruise Control Description and Operation  for the complete operational details.
  10. Install the cruise control cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Replacement (Base, DHS, DTS)  or Cruise Control Cable Replacement (V4U) .
