Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Before replacement of the DIM module (1), record the personalization settings in order to transfer the settings after the DIM module (1) has been replaced. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration (IPM)  or Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration (DIM)  or Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration (RIM) .
  1. Remove the right sound insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel Gages, and Console.
  2. Disconnect the DIM module electrical connectors (2).

  4. Depress inward on the locking tab (2).
  5. With the locking tab (2) depressed, slide the DIM module (2) downward.
  6. Remove the DIM module (1) from the bracket.
