Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the RIM module (1) to the mounting bracket.
  2. Push the RIM (1) into the mounting bracket until an audible click is heard indicating the locking tabs are fully engaged.
  3. Connect the RIM (1) electrical connectors.
  4. Install the mounting bracket (1) to the vehicle body.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the mounting bracket fasteners (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  8. Install the rear compartment trim. Refer to Compartment Front Trim Panel Replacement - Rear in Body Rear End.
  9. Program the body control module and restore the personalization settings. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration (IPM)  or Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration (DIM)  or Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration (RIM) .
  10. Restore the drivers personalization settings. Refer to Driver Personalization in Personalization.
