Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Before replacing the RIM module, record the personalization settings in order to restore the settings after the new module is installed.
  1. Record the RIM personalization settings. Refer to Driver Personalization .
  2. Remove the rear storage compartment trim. Refer to Compartment Front Trim Panel Replacement - Rear in Body Rear End.
  3. Remove the mounting bracket fasteners (2).
  4. Pull the mounting bracket (1) away from the body and place the mounting bracket (1) module side up in the rear compartment.

  6. Disconnect the RIM (1) electrical connectors.
  7. Depress inward on the locking tabs (2).
  8. With the locking tabs (2) depressed, slide the RIM (1) out of the mounting bracket.
  9. Remove the RIM module (1) from the mounting bracket.
