Installation Procedure

  1. Position the negative battery cable (1) to the right rear cylinder head as shown.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: Ensure that the engine harness ground terminal (3) is positioned over the negative cable terminal (1) prior to bolt (2) installation.
  3. Install the negative battery cable terminal (1) and bolt (2) to the right rear cylinder head.

    Tighten:  Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  5. Install the negative battery cable ground lead to the frame rail stud (5).
  6. Install the negative battery cable ground nut (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the negative battery cable ground nut to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  7. Install the battery cable clips.
  8. Connect the battery negative cable (2) to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
