Installation Procedure

  1. Install the ECM to the vehicle.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the ECM mounting nuts (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  4. Connect the ECM electrical connectors (1).

  6. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Air Deflector Replacement - Front in Body Front End.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  9. Program the ECM. Refer to Engine Control Module Programming and Setup (4.6L) or Engine Control Module Programming and Setup (3.6L - LY7) in Programming and Setup.
