Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT: Whenever the rotor has been separated from the wheel bearing flange, clean any rust or contaminants from the wheel bearing flange and the brake rotor mating surfaces. Failure to do this may result in increased lateral runout of the brake rotor, and brake pulsation.
  1. Use the J 42450-A  in order to clean any rust or corrosion from the wheel hub surface. See Special Tools .
  2. Clean any rust or contaminants from the steering knuckle to splash shield mating surfaces.
  3. Install the splash shield to the steering knuckle.
  4. Install the wheel bearing assembly. Refer to Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (AWD) or Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (RWD) .
  5. Install the brake caliper and the brake caliper bracket as an assembly to the suspension knuckle. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement .
  6. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
