Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Cadillac CTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The radio/hvac display is supplied battery voltage and ground . The radio controls the power state of the display through the remote enable circuit, which is also used to control the power state of other infotainment devices. Display backlighting dimming level, and screen touch signal are communicated over the touch data circuits. The radio sends graphical image data to the display via a dedicated video interface cable.

The radio controls the position of the display via the position control circuit. When the UP position is desired, the radio sends a voltage signal to the display actuator on the position control circuit, which commands the display actuator to raise the display. To lower the display, the radio removes the voltage signal on the position control circuit, which commands the display actuator to lower the display.
