Circuit/System Testing
IMPORTANT:
When removing connectors inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector.
- The object sensors
- The object alarm module
- The object sensor wiring harness connector
- The object alarm module wiring harness connector
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the object alarm module connector. Refer to object alarm module in Repair Instructions for connector location.
- Disconnect the rear object sensor, refer to rear object sensor replacement in Repair Instructions for connector location. For DTC B0958 disconnect the left rear corner object sensor, B0959 disconnect the left middle rear sensor, B0960 disconnect the right middle rear sensor, or B0961 disconnect the right rear corner sensor.
- Test the object sensor signal circuit between the each sensor and the object alarm module for a short to ground, a short to voltage, a high resistance, or an open. Verify that a short to ground, a short to voltage, a high resistance, or an open does not exist.
- If any of the above conditions are found make the appropriate repair.
- Test the object sensor supply voltage circuit between the each sensor and the object alarm module for a short to ground, a high resistance, or an open. Verify that a short to ground, a high resistance, or an open does not exist.
- If any of the above conditions are found make the appropriate repair.
- Test the object sensor low reference circuit between the each sensor and the object alarm module for a short to voltage, a high resistance, or an open. Verify that a short to voltage, a high resistance, or an open does not exist.
- If any of the above conditions are found make the appropriate repair.
- If all circuits test normal replace the rear object sensor. For DTC B0958 replace the left rear corner object sensor, B0959 replace the left middle rear sensor, B0960 replace the right middle rear sensor, or B0961 replace the right rear corner sensor. After replacement refer to Repair Verification .
