Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 GMC Sierra, 2009 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2009 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector of the yaw and lateral accelerometer sensor.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 5 Ω between the sensor ground circuit and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
  3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the sensor B+ circuit and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
  4. Test the serial data circuits for an short to ground, open/high resistance, or short to voltage. If all circuits test normal, replace the yaw and lateral accelerometer sensor.
