Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X4 harness connector at the PSCM.
- Ignition OFF, test for 10-200 Ω of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 1 and the signal circuit terminal 3.
- If not within the specified range, test both signal circuits for an a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the power steering motor.
- Ignition OFF, test for 3K-10KΩ of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 6 and the signal circuit terminal 3.
- If not within the specified range, test both signal circuits for an a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the power steering motor.
- Ignition OFF, test for 6K-20K Ω of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 5 and the signal circuit terminal 3.
- If not within the specified range, test both signal circuits for an a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the power steering motor.
- Ignition OFF, test for greater than 1M Ω of resistance between the signal circuit terminal 3 and the motor flange.
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the power steering motor.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the PSCM.
