Component Testing

- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X176 harness connector at the transmission.
- Install the DT-48493 jumper harnessto the transmission side only.
- Test for 7.0-9.0 Ω between the AC terminal 15 and the AC terminal 16.
- If less than the specified range, test the transmission control wiring harness extension harness circuits for a short between the AC circuits. If the circuits test normal replace the M15B drive motor with generator assembly.
- If greater than the specified range, test each transmission control wiring harness extension harness AC circuits for an open. If the circuits test normal replace the M15B drive motor with generator assembly.
- Test for 20-23 Ω between the signal terminal 20 and the signal terminal 21.
- If less than the specified range, test the transmission control wiring harness extension harness circuits for a short between the signal circuits. If the circuits test normal replace the M15B drive motor with generator assembly.
- If greater than the specified range, test each transmission control wiring harness extension harness signal circuits for an open. If the circuits test normal replace the M15B drive motor with generator assembly.
- Test for 23-26 Ω between the signal terminal 17 and the signal terminal 18.
- If less than the specified range, test the transmission control wiring harness extension harness circuits for a short between the signal circuits. If the circuits test normal replace the M15B drive motor with generator assembly.
- If greater than the specified range, test each transmission control wiring harness extension harness signal circuits for an open. If the circuits test normal replace the M15B drive motor with generator assembly.
- Test for greater than 7 Ω between the terminals listed below and ground:
- Terminal 15
- Terminal 16
- Terminal 17
- Terminal 18
- Terminal 20
- Terminal 21
- If less that the specified value, test the transmission control wiring harness extension harness circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal replace the M15B drive motor with generator assembly.
- Test for infinite resistance between the terminals listed below:
- Terminals 15 and 17
- Terminals 15 and 20
- Terminals 17 and 20
- If less that the specified value, test the transmission control wiring harness extension harness circuits for a short between the circuits. If the circuits test normal replace the M15B drive motor with generator assembly.
