Diagnostic Procedures

- Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls? If yes, go to next step. If no, perform diagnostic system check - engine controls. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK - ENGINE CONTROLS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Using scan tool, place vehicle into CHECK MODE. See SERVICE BAY TESTS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Operate vehicle within freeze frame conditions as noted. Does DTC P1335 set? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure resistance of CKP sensor, using a DMM. Is resistance 985-1670 ohms at 122°F (50°C) or 1265-1890 ohms at 212°F (100°C)? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step 6.
- Disconnect PCM White 34-pin harness connector. Check for a open or short in CKP circuits. Repair as necessary. Was a repair necessary? If yes, go to step 8. If no, go to next step.
- Check for a faulty electrical connection at PCM and CKP sensor. Repair as necessary. Was a repair necessary? If yes, go to step 8. If no, go to next step.
- Replace CKP sensor. After repair, go to step 8.
- Replace PCM. After repair, go to step 8.
- Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Turn ignition OFF for 30 seconds. Start engine. Operate vehicle within CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING DTC as specified. Does DTC run and pass? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step 2.
- Using scan tool, observe stored information, CAPTURE INFO. Does scan tool display any DTCs that have not been diagnosed? If yes, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If no, system is okay at this time.
