Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install a new throttle body gasket.
  2. Connect the coolant hoses to the throttle body.
  3. Install the throttle body assembly.
  4. NOTE: Refer to the Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: Always use a torque wrench in order to obtain the proper torque.
  5. Install the throttle body attaching bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the throttle body bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  7. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
  8. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the throttle body.

    IMPORTANT: Ensure that the air control valve electrical connector and the connector seal are properly installed and not damaged.
  10. Connect the air control valve electrical connector.

  12. Install the air intake duct.
  13. Connect the intake air temperature sensor electrical connector.
  14. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
  15. Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Monitor the throttle angles, using a scan tool. The accelerator pedal should operate freely without binding between full closed throttle and wide open throttle.
  16. Start the engine.
  17. Check for coolant leaks.
