Circuit/System Testing

  1. Center the balance and fade adjustment on the radio.
    • If adjustment of the fade and balance eliminates the concern, review the operation of the radio with the customer.
  2. Ignition OFF, Disconnect the suspect speaker harness connector.
  3. Ignition ON, operate the radio and increase the volume.
  4. Verify AC voltage is present between the suspect speaker (+) and speaker (-) circuits.
    • If AC voltage is present, replace the speaker.
    • If AC voltage is not present repair open/high resistance.
  5. If all circuits test normal replace the radio.
