SERVICE INFORMATION

This bulletin provides information regarding any remote keyless entry/transmitter (key fob) that may be inoperative intermittently or in which a particular button(s) does not work.

To prevent transmitter battery drain, the RKE transmitter will disable any button or buttons that are depressed longer than 30 seconds. The disabled button or buttons will remain disabled until another button that has not been disabled is pressed.

If a button or buttons on a transmitter are not functioning, or if a transmitter cannot be programmed to a vehicle, press and release each and every button on the fob one at a time until you find one that works then retest the other buttons. If all buttons are now working, the button(s) were disabled and the transmitter is working as designed.

If the transmitter still fails to function properly, use the J-43241 tester and follow normal diagnostics as shown in SI.
