If the DTC was set after EBCM replacement, verify that the replacement EBCM and software are correct for the vehicle.

Step Action Yes No
Schematic Reference: ABS Schematics 
1 Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - ABS? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - ABS 
2 Is the EBCM the correct module for the vehicle? Go to Step 4  Go to Step 3 
3 Replace the EBCM. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement (CTS)  or Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement (CTS-V) .
Did you complete the repair?		 Go to Step 5  Go to Step 4 
4 Reprogram the EBCM. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) in Programming.
Did you complete the repair?		 Go to Step 5  -

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Turn ON the ignition.
Does the DTC reset?		 Go to Step 2  System OK
