DTC Set By The Audio Amplifier

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the inoperative speaker.
  2. Ignition ON, radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 volts between the inoperative speaker output positive (+) circuit and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the output circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the output circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
  3. Ignition ON, radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 volts between the inoperative speaker output negative (-) circuit and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the output circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the output circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the audio amplifier.
  4. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the inoperative speaker.
