Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Cadillac STS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition ON, verify that DTCs U1826, U1827, or C0292 are not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the yaw/lateral acceleration sensor connector.
- Ignition OFF for 5 minutes, test for less than 10 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 6 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
- Ignition ON, test for 11.75-12.25 V between the 12 V reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the 12 V reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- If greater than the specified range, test the 12 V reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the yaw rate/lateral acceleration sensor.
