Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate wheel speed sensor.
  2. Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the signal circuit terminal A and ground.
    • If not within the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
  3. Test for less than 1 volt between the low reference circuit terminal B and the signal circuit terminal A.
    • If not within the specified range, test the low reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
  4. Disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
  5. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal A and ground.
    • If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
  6. Test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the signal circuit terminal A at the wheel speed connector and the appropriate terminal A1, A3, A5, or A7 at the EBCM connector.
    • If not within the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open or a high resistance.
  7. Test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the low reference circuit terminal B at the wheel speed sensor connector and the appropriate terminal A2, A4, A6, or A8 at the EBCM connector.
    • If not within the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open or a high resistance.
  8. If all circuits test normal, replace the wheel speed sensor.
