Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate wheel speed sensor.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the signal circuit terminal A and ground.
- If not within the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Test for less than 1 volt between the low reference circuit terminal B and the signal circuit terminal A.
- If not within the specified range, test the low reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal A and ground.
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the signal circuit terminal A at the wheel speed connector and the appropriate terminal A1, A3, A5, or A7 at the EBCM connector.
- If not within the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open or a high resistance.
- Test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the low reference circuit terminal B at the wheel speed sensor connector and the appropriate terminal A2, A4, A6, or A8 at the EBCM connector.
- If not within the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open or a high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the wheel speed sensor.
