Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT:
If rear video display does not turn ON, use diagnostic Video Entertainment System Inoperative .
With Third Row Video Screen
- Operate the rear seat entertainment system using a known good DVD. Verify that the DVD video appears on the navigation display.
- If the DVD video does not display on either the navigation display or the rear video screen replace the radio.
- Verify the rear seat audio (RSA) module turns ON.
- If the RSA does not turn ON go to Video Entertainment System Inoperative .
- Disconnect the harness connector from the video display. Ignition ON, operate the rear seat entertainment system using a known good DVD. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the backlight power circuit module and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the backlight power circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the display ground circuit and ground
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition OFF, test for an open, short to ground and short to power on the DVD video signal circuits to the video display.
- If all circuits test normal replace the video display.
