Door Control Module Programming/RPO Configuration

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Cadillac CTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

When replacing door control modules for export vehicles, all replacement door modules must be reprogrammed in order to relearn the vehicle identification number (VIN). This does not include domestic vehicles. When replacing a driver door module (DDM) or front passenger door module (PDM) the proper vehicle option configurations must be entered for both domestic and export vehicles.

The following steps explain how to program replacement door control modules:

  1. For domestic vehicles proceed to step number 6.
  2. With the scan tool, navigate to the main menu for the door control module that has been replaced.
  3. Select Special Functions.
  4. Select Door Zone Module VIN Relearn.
  5. Follow the on screen instructions in order to complete the relearn procedure.
IMPORTANT: If the module being replaced is a DDM or PDM, proceed to the following steps.
  6. Navigate to the main menu for the door control module being replaced.
  7. Select Special Functions.
  8. Select Set Options.
  9. Select Vehicle Type.
  10. Follow the on screen instructions in order to complete the set options procedure.

After performing the above steps the power windows must be initialized. Refer to Window Motor Programming - Express Function .
