Electronic Brake Control Module Scan Tool Data Parameters

Parameter System State Expected Value Definition
Operating Conditions: Ignition ON
ABS Active - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. The scan tool will display Yes when the ABS is active and No during normal vehicle operation.
ABS Warning Lamp - Off The scan tool will display On or Off depending on the state of the ABS indicator.
BPMV Pressure Sensor - 0.0 Bar The scan tool will display BAR or PSI. This is a reading of the pressure applied to brake pedal.
Brake Switch - Released The scan tool displays Applied or Released. This is the state of the brake pedal.
DRP Active - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. This is the state of the dynamic rear proportioning (DRP).
DRP Disabled - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. This is the state of the dynamic rear proportioning (DRP).
EBTCM to PCM Requested Torque - 0 N.m The scan tool displays the Requested Torque signal in N.m
Engine Speed - 0 RPM The scan tool displays the current engine speed in RPM.
Ignition Voltage - Varies The scan tool displays 0-17 Volts. The scan tool displays the level of ignition voltage at the EBCM.
Lateral Accelerometer Sensor - 0 g The scan tool will display 0 g. The scan tool displays the lateral accelerometer signal received from the sensor.
Left Front Wheel Speed - 0 km/h (0 mph) This displays km/h (mph). This is the current speed of the left front wheel speed sensor.
LF Inlet Valve Solenoid - Inactive The scan tool will display Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the LF inlet solenoid valve.
LF Outlet Valve Solenoid - Inactive The scan tool will display Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the LF outlet solenoid valve.
LF TCS Isolation Solenoid - Inactive The scan tool will display Active/Inactive. This displays the commanded state of the solenoid valve.
LF TCS Prime Solenoid - Inactive The scan tool will display Active/Inactive. This displays the commanded state of the solenoid valve.
Left Rear Wheel Speed - OK The scan tool displays OK or Low. This is the state of the washer fluid level.
Low Traction Lamp - Off The scan tool will display On/Off. This will indicate the state of the Low Traction Indicator.
LR Inlet Valve Solenoid - Off The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the LR inlet solenoid valve.
LR Outlet Valve Solenoid - Off The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the LR outlet solenoid valve.
Motor Relay State - Off The scan tool display On /Off. This is the commanded state of the ABS pump motor relay.
PCM to EBTCM Delivered Torque - 0 N.m The scan tool displays the Delivered Torque signal in N.m
RF Inlet Valve Solenoid - Off The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RF inlet solenoid valve.
RF Outlet Valve Solenoid - Off The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RF outlet solenoid valve.
RF TCS Isolation Solenoid - Inactive The scan tool will display Active/Inactive. This displays the commanded state of the solenoid valve.
RF TCS Prime Solenoid - Inactive The scan tool will display Active/Inactive. This displays the commanded state of the solenoid valve.
Right Front Wheel Speed - 0 km/h (0 mph) This displays km/h (mph). This is the current speed of the right front wheel speed sensor.
Rough Road Parameter - 0g The scan tool will display 0-g. The scan tool displays the EBCM calculation of the road surface roughness. This information is sent to the engine controller via a serial data message to be used for misfire detection.
RR Inlet Valve Solenoid - Off The scan tool displays Active or Inactive - The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RR inlet solenoid valve.
RR Outlet Valve Solenoid - Off The scan tool displays Active or Inactive - The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RR outlet solenoid valve.
Right Rear Wheel Speed - 0 km/h (0 mph) This displays km/h (mph). This is the current speed of the right front wheel speed sensor.
Speed Range 1 Calibrated - Yes The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes indicates speed range 1 is fully calibrated and the TPM system has full tire pressure detection capability from 31-65 km/h (19-40 mph). No indicates the TPM system is in the calibration process in speed range 1 and has no tire pressure detection capability in speed range 1.
Speed Range 1 Tire Pressure - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes indicates the TPM system has detected a low tire pressure condition in speed range 1. No indicates the TPM system has not detected a low tire pressure condition in speed range 1.
Speed Range 2 Calibrated - Yes The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes indicates speed range 2 is fully calibrated and the TPM system has full tire pressure detection capability from 65-95 km/h (40-59 mph). No indicates the TPM system is in the calibration process in speed range 2 and has no tire pressure detection capability in speed range 2.
Speed Range 2 Tire Pressure - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes indicates the TPM system has detected a low tire pressure condition in speed range 2. No indicates the TPM system has not detected a low tire pressure condition in speed range 2.
Speed Range 3 Calibrated - Yes The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes indicates speed range 3 is fully calibrated and the TPM system has full tire pressure detection capability from 95-120 km/h (59-74.5 mph). No indicates the TPM system is in the calibration process in speed range 3 and has no tire pressure detection capability in speed range 3.
Speed Range 3 Tire Pressure - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes indicates the TPM system has detected a low tire pressure condition in speed range 3. No indicates the TPM system has not detected a low tire pressure condition in speed range 3.
Speed Range 4 Calibrated - Yes The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes indicates speed range 4 is fully calibrated and the TPM system has full tire pressure detection capability from 120-145 km/h (74.5-90 mph). No indicates the TPM system is in the calibration process in speed range 4 and has no tire pressure detection capability in speed range 4.
Speed Range 4 Tire Pressure - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes indicates the TPM system has detected a low tire pressure condition in speed range 4. No indicates the TPM system has not detected a low tire pressure condition in speed range 4.
TCS Active - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. The scan tool will display Yes when the traction control system is active and No during normal vehicle operation.
TCS Switch State - On The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool will display the state of the Traction Control Switch.
TCS Warning Lamp - Off The scan tool will display On or Off depending on the state of the TCS indicator.
TPM Indicator/Message - Off The scan tool displays On or Off indicated if the TPM is currently requesting a warning lamp to illuminate or a message to be displayed.
TPM System Enabled - Yes The scan tool displays Yes, or No. Yes indicates the TPM System has been enabled in the RCDLR. No indicates the TPM System has not been enabled in the RCDLR.
Valve Relay State - Off The scan tool will display On/Off depending on the state of the VSES relay.
VES Auto Learn Complete - Yes The scan tool will display YES/NO depending if the VSES auto learn is completed.
VES Malfunction - Not Set The scan tool displays Set or Not Set.
VSES Active - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. The scan tool displays Yes when VSES is active, and No when VSES is inactive.
VSES Failed - No The scan tool will display Yes or No depending on the state of the VSES system.
VES Steering Angle Sensor - Varies The scan tool displays -720 ° to approximately +720 °. The scan tool will display the signal received from the Steering Angle Sensor.
Yaw Rate Sensor - 0.0 °/sec The scan tool displays 0.0 °/sec. The scan tool displays the signal received from the yaw rate sensor.
Electronic Brake Control Module Scan Tool Output Controls

Scan Tool Output Control Description
Automated Bleed This is used in order to bleed ABS hydraulics. Refer to Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed Procedure .
LF Inlet Valve Solenoid Commands the solenoid ON and OFF.
LF Outlet Valve Solenoid Commands the solenoid ON and OFF.
LR Inlet Valve Solenoid Commands the solenoid ON and OFF.
LR Outlet Valve Solenoid Commands the solenoid ON and OFF.
RF Inlet Valve Solenoid Commands the solenoid ON and OFF.
RF Outlet Valve Solenoid Commands the solenoid ON and OFF.
RR Inlet Valve Solenoid Commands the solenoid ON and OFF.
RR Outlet Valve Solenoid Commands the solenoid ON and OFF.
Steering Angle Sensor Centering Performs the steering wheel centering procedure.
