Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector X2 at the SDGM.
  2. IMPORTANT: The scan tool must be disconnected and the ignition key must be out of the ignition switch for 30 seconds for proper test results.
  3. Test for less than 10 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 18 and B+.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 8 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  5. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the enable signal circuit terminal 16 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the SDGM.
