Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2007 GMC Yukon XL, 2007 GMC Yukon, 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer and the steering wheel position sensor connectors.
  2. Ignition ON, measure for 4.8-5.2 volts at SAS sensor 5-volt reference circuit or battery positive reference at the yaw rate sensor and ground.
    • If over 5.2 volts, test each 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuits tests normal, replace the EBCM.
    • If the SAS sensor is under 4.8 volts, test each 5-volt reference circuit for short to ground. If the circuits tests normal, replace the EBCM.
    • If the SAS sensor over 5.2 volts, test each 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuits tests normal, replace the EBCM.
    • If the yaw rate sensor is under battery positive voltage, test each 12-volt reference circuit for short to ground. If the circuits tests normal, replace the EBCM.
