Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Outlook, 2009 GMC Acadia, 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2009 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the infrared transmitter.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 12 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, RSA ON, test for B+ between the control circuit terminal 4 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rear audio/HVAC module.
- Ignition ON, DVD playing, test for AC voltage between the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left DVD audio signal (+) - terminal 1
- DVD audio common (-) - terminal 2
- Right DVD audio signal (+) - terminal 3
- If AC voltage is not present, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition ON, RSA ON, test for AC voltage between the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left infrared audio signal (+) - terminal 9
- Infra red audio low reference (-) - terminal 10
- Right infrared audio signal (+) - terminal 11
- If AC voltage is not present, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rear audio/HVAC module.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the infrared transmitter.
