- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the radio.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between B+ and the auxiliary video high signal circuit terminal 8.
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the auxiliary video/audio jack assembly.
- Verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the auxiliary video high signal circuit terminal 8 and ground.
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the auxiliary video/audio jack assembly.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm between the signal circuit at terminal 8 and the video jack terminal (yellow).
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the auxiliary video/audio jack assembly.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm between the drain wire circuit terminal 16 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the drain wire circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the auxiliary video/audio jack assembly.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the radio.
