WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac XLR. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the CD changer.
- Radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 volts between the signal circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the DRR.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the DRR.
- Test for 5.0-7.5 volts between the signal circuit terminal 13 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the DRR.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the DRR.
- Test for 5.0-7.5 volts between the signal circuit terminal 14 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the DRR.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the DRR.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the CD changer.
