Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac XLR. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the remote CD changer, with the shipping plug in the bottom position, to the radio and connect the electrical lead.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the retaining screws that secure the CD changer to the radio.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  4. Remove the shipping plug from the bottom of the CD changer.
  5. Connect the electrical/audio and coaxial cable connectors to the radio control.
  6. Install the radio control into position in the I/P center support bracket.

    Align the radio control locator tab into the center support bracket locator hole.

  8. Install the radio control retaining screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  9. Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  10. Install the RDO/CD MiniFuse® #5 to the I/P electrical center.
  11. Install the cover to the I/P electrical center.
