DTC Set By The Radio

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the appropriate audio amplifier harness connector for the inoperative low level audio signal circuit.
  2. Ignition ON, radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 volts between the appropriate low level audio signal positive (+) circuit and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
  3. Ignition ON, radio ON, test for 5.0-7.5 volts between the appropriate low level audio signal negative (-) circuit and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
  4. If all circuits test normal, replace the audio amplifier.
