Automatic Level Control Sensor Replacement

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition switch on, with engine off.
  2. Using a scan tool, remove all of the air from the system for at least 60 seconds
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

CAUTION: The area around the connection of the automatic level control sensor to air compressor must be cleaned thoroughly. If contamination falls into the sensor bore, damage to the sensor and/or the air compressor may result.
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

  1. Remove all dirt and debris from around the sensor prior to removing it.
  2. Turn the ignition on, with engine off.
  3. Using a scan tool, operate the air compressor for 30 seconds or until the rear of the vehicle begins to rise. Remove the scan tool.
  4. Cycle the ignition switch OFF, then ON, with the engine ON to allow the air suspension to regain the desired rear suspension position.

Tighten:  15 N.m (11 lb ft)
