Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying Rivets & Retainer

  1. Install the fuel line to the retainers.
  2. Position the fuel/EVAP lines to the vehicle underbody.
  3. Connect the retainers (3, 4 and 1) to the underbody.
  4. Install NEW rivets (5) securing the retainer (2) to the underbody

  6. Connect the chassis EVAP line quick connect fitting (1) to the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  8. Connect the fuel feed rear pipe quick connect fitting (1) to the chassis fuel line. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  10. Position the retainer to the front of dash.
  11. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  12. Tighten the fuel/EVAP pipe retainer bolt (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  13. Lower the vehicle.

  15. Connect the EVAP line (2) quick connect fitting at the EVAP canister purge valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  16. Connect the fuel feed pipe (1) quick connect fitting at the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  17. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  18. Perform the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
    1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  19. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
