Installation Procedure

  1. With the aid of an assistant, position the brake booster to the vehicle.

  3. Install the adjustable pedal assembly to the vehicle.
  4. NOTE:

    Do not tighten the adjustable pedal bracket bolt until the adjustable pedal bracket nuts are installed.

  5. Hand install the adjustable pedal bracket bolt (1).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  7. Install the adjustable pedal bracket nuts (1) and tighten to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).
  8. Tighten the adjustable pedal bracket bolt to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).

  10. Apply a thin coat of high temperature grease GM P/N 12345994 (Canadian P/N 10953501) to the pushrod pin on the brake pedal.
  11. Connect the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal pivot.
  12. Install the stoplamp switch (1).

  14. Install the brake booster pushrod retainer (1).

    Rotate the retainer 360 degrees to ensure it is seated properly before tightening the retainer bolt.

  16. Install the brake booster pushrod retainer bolt (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  17. Install the accelerator pedal position sensor assembly. Refer to Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement .
  18. Connect the electrical connectors to the following components:
    • Adjustable pedal motor assembly
    • Memory sensor connector, if equipped
    • Brake pedal position sensor
    • Stoplamp switch
  19. Reposition and connect any wiring harnesses as necessary.
  20. Install the steering column to the vehicle. Refer to Steering Column Replacement (Without HP2) , Steering Column Replacement (HP2) , Steering Column Replacement (Without HP2 With Electric Tilt Column) .
  21. Install the left side floor air outlet duct. Refer to Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side .
  22. Verify the correct operation of the adjustable pedals.
